The hardest-working, hottest young rock band in Southern California - ACIDIC - is at it again! They’re about to hit the road with the multi-platinum-selling Seattle-based powerhouse Candlebox for an April tour through the East Coast and Upper Midwest.
Last fall, ACIDIC unleashed their highly-anticipated new album,“Chronic Satisfaction,” to wild and enthusiastic response! The CD is produced by multi-platinum award-winning producer John Ryan (Styx, Santana, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers, etc) of Chicago Kid Productions. The first single off the new album, "Uninspired," is now getting airplay on FM and internet rock stations across the U.S. and Canada. The strength of “Chronic Satisfaction” inspired Music Reviews to name ACIDIC one of its “12 Bands To Watch in 2012.”
ACIDIC first burst onto the scene with the release of their 2010 epic, “Getting Lucky” - a CD that was produced by the award-winning Australian Wizardz Of Oz team of Andrew Bojanic & Liz Hooper (Jason Mraz, Liz Phair, Avril Lavigne). “Getting Lucky” helped land the boys on the Hot AC radio charts with their ballad “Maybe.” It was off the steam of “Maybe” that the boys scored opening slots on tours with heavy hitters such as Alien Ant Farm, Hawthorne Heights, Filter, Marcy Playground, The Higher. ACIDIC just completed a fabulously-successful Midwest tour with Fuel last month, and is presently touring the West Coast and Midwest with Warner Drive. They’ve also toured Kosovo and Germany to play for the troops with Armed Forces Entertainment.
In addition to the tours, ACIDIC has also played such prestigious gigs as the 2012 Winter NAMM Show at the Anaheim Convention Center, SXSW, the Sunset Strip Music Festival, and Bamboozle Left. ACIDIC won the Alternative category in the 18th Billboard WorldWide Song Contest in 2011 for their power rocker “Strata Red” (also from “Getting Lucky”). One of their proudest early accolades was being named the Whisky a Go Go’s LA WEEKLY Band of the Month in March 2010.
ACIDIC, which Alternative Press said “Rocks like Funeral Party, Cage the Elephant, Young the Giant,” consists of lead singer/guitarist Michael Gossard, bassist Ted Dubrawski, guitarist/backup vocalist Michael Thompson, and drummer Matt Whitaker.
