Powerslave, a tribute to Iron Maiden was formed in the spring of 1998 in Syracuse NY. Formed by musicians of other local bands and all diehard Maiden fans. The band featured Rob Steele - vocals, Rich Giarrusso - guitars, Dave DeVito - guitars, Andrew Gersten - Bass, and John Clifford - Drums. They played their first show at Nickstock in Weedsport NY in August of that same year to a very large and receptive crowd. The band soon parted ways with Steele due to personal differences and recruited Anthony Capurso to fill the vocal spot. They soon began playing shows to packed crowds throughout the central and upstate NY region, never failing to deliver a high energy and very entertaining show. Sadly they disbanded two years later due to work schedules and a lack of quality places to play. Eleven years and a couple of bands later the two guitarists, friends since childhood, got together again to try to get something new going but would always revert back to playing Maiden songs out of their love for the band. After a meeting with the other original members still playing with other bands on the local scene, they all decided to reform the band with the exception of Capurso who after a month could not commit fulltime. After almost a year of rehearsing and not much luck finding a vocalist they placed an ad in The Syracuse New Times and soon aquired the very talented and extremely powerful vocals of Bryan Dano, a local musician and former member of the NYC Iron Maiden tribute band Sanctuary. The band now stands hungry, pumped, primed and ready to tear up any stage they may invade upon.
So, Run to the Hills... No, Run For Your F***ing Lives! POWERSLAVE IS GOING TO GET ALL OF YOU !!!
Darkitecht is an established Metal band from Connecticut.
The bands' ultimate goal is to blend different Metal and Rock influences into a genre bending force that can not be pigeon-holed to any specific category.
The music can best be described as punishingly brutal, technical; and melodic with odd tempos and direction changes.
Vocals utilize a mix of Hardcore, Death Metal, Black Metal and Clean styles.
With many shows under their belt, the band has been focusing on playing shows regionally and beyond with hopes of reaching a broader audience.
