Gramatik: After completing his epic Re:Coil EU Tour across 26 European cities in the fall, Slovenian-born producer residing in NYC, will take most of December and January off to work on new music and, of course, binge watch his favorite shows. With only a few one-off shows in December Gramatik will bring the year to a close in NYC’s Terminal 5 for a big New Year’s Eve showdown with guest appearances from Big Wild, Ramzoid, Cobrayama and Balkan Bump. After some much needed recovery in January he’ll hop back on the tour bus for a two-month Re:Coil US Tour, visiting well over 30 cities all around the country.

Before going into details it is worth revisiting why the EU leg of the tour was so special. First of all, Gramatik released his new EP, “Re:Coil Part I”, at the legendary Paris venue Le Zenith. The response has been incredible as critics and peers praised his ability to continuously evolve his unique sound. But even more importantly, during the show in Zürich on November 9th he made history as he became the first musician to launch his own token GRMTK in collaboration with SingularDTV; a revolutionary new approach that promises a convergence of network and data that will allow creators to bypass gatekeepers and intermediaries and seize control of their intellectual property. The full goal was reached within 24 hours and all together 2,3 million dollars in ETH were raised with hardly breaking a sweat, signalling that people are open to new distribution models.

With that said, Gramatik won’t be taking too much time to rest on his laurels. On February 1st the Re:Coil US Tour will begin in Detroit, Michigan with support from keyboard maestro Haywyre. Classically trained protégé of Monstercat Records (since 2014) has been astounding the musical world with his incredible blend of electronic genres like dubstep and glitch hop with classical and jazz piano training for a while now. He made a breakthrough with 2014 album “Two Fold Pt. 1” and a live rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” that went viral. “Two Fold Pt. 2” followed in 2016 and further established him as one of the most promising young talents. He will be joining Gramatik on about half of the shows, while for the other half of the tour his spot will be filled by French bon vivant Møme. Originally from Nice, France he moved to Australia around 2015 and when he is not surfing the waves he likes nothing more than composing on the go in his van, remodelled into a recording studio. He too studied music from young age but has found that electronic music suits him better than playing in a band and after signing with Parisian label DDM, he has released two excellent EP’s (“Cosmopolitan”, “Aloha”) and an album titled “Panorama”. With such high-profile artists providing support, it feels pretty safe to say the Re:Coil US Tour will be just as epic as the European tour before it.
Møme: When not surfing the Australian waves, the musician Møme (aka Jérémy Souillart) likes nothing better than composing. He has converted his van into a studio-on-wheels and, driving from coast to coast, he composes as he goes. Jérémy was raised in Nice and his 'chillwave' sound is proving a great hit back in his native France. Influenced by the artists of the Australian Future Classic label such as Flume or Chet Faker, his EP Aloha states his attachment to Pop Electronic music as testifies its aerial and beat soul covered by the voice of the Australian singer Merryn Jeann.

Before releasing his first EP (Eclipse, 2014), the 26-year-old musician used to play the guitar in a rock band. He still plays, though he has gravitated towards the computer- and synthesizer-produced software that inspired the expanding Møme project. The new sound lay behind the track 'Cyclope' on his second EP (Cosmopolitan, 2015) which along with the clip got him noticed by the musical press.

After producing his EP Aloha, Møme drove to Australia in his van last November and met other producers, male and female singers who feature on his recordings. Far from his comfort zone in the huge country where Future Classic was born Møme found a solid background to compose.

It's not all life on the road. In order to finalize his titles and his next album, Møme stopped driving. Back in France since May he has been working in studio on his very first album "Panorama" due to be released on 25thNovember.

Jérémy's musical experience ranges across jazz, to the French Touch and guitarists like John Butler. This breadth undoubtedly owes much to his love for the guitar and his formal piano training at Nice's Academy of Music. From a composer with such a background, the neat yet startling sound of the Møme Project is hardly surprising. Starting out from the Soundcloud Community and now supported by the DDM Recordings label, Jérémy has naturally opened up to innumerable sounds gathered in one unique project: Møme.
Balkan Bump:

Balkan Bump is the newest project from trumpet player, producer and ethnomusicologist Will Magid.

Balkan Bump launched to an unexpecting audience in late 2017 with his debut track “Aymo” alongside superstar collaborators Gramatik and Talib Kweli. Finding an affinity based in his own Balkan roots, Gramatik has championed the new project; debuting Balkan Bump’s first live performance at Gramatik’s anticipated NYE show at Terminal 5; taking Balkan Bump’s live show on the road for the Spring 2018 Re:Coil tour; and releasing Balkan Bump’s debut EP via his Lowtemp label imprint.

Musically, Balkan Bump is a fusion of live instruments, world influences and lush electronic production. His debut EP flaunts experience as an instrumentalist and arranger, fusing energetic Balkan brass with heavy electronic production and hip-hop/trap influences. This thrilling blend of live brass and electronic production carries over to Balkan Bump’s live show, as he joins Gramatik to unveil his horn-infused live set to a North American audience in Spring 2018.
