Cami Clune first captured national attention as a semi-finalist on Season 19 of NBC's The Voice, where her unique renditions and commanding stage presence left a memorable mark. In her blind audition, she received a 4 chair turn with a block, the only contestant her season with those combined accolades. She chose John Legend as her coach, but ultimately landed a spot on Kelly Clarkson’s team, as she used her only steal for Cami in the knockout round. In the live portion of the show, Kelly used her only artist save to advance Cami into the semi-finals.
Throughout her time on The Voice, Cami had the privilege of working alongside stars such as John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, Usher, and Miguel. The collaborative environment, coupled with the guidance of the talented cast and crew behind the scenes, became a crucible for Cami's artistic growth. The experience was a transformative chapter, providing Cami with invaluable insights and shaping her into the artist she is today.
Incorporating elements from pop, rock, and country, her sound is a unique fusion of genres. Drawing inspiration from a diverse palette of musical influences, including Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Linda Ronstadt, and Stevie Nicks, Cami's sound is a combination of nostalgia and contemporary flair. Her ability to infuse storytelling into each song she sings, whether it be a cover or original, resonates with listeners and creates a meaningful connection with her audience.
Cami has performed as a featured vocalist with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and has brought her talent to crafting memorable jingles. She has also sung the national anthem for prominent organizations, including the NFL and NHL.
Cami's artistic pursuits extend beyond music to encompass a love for acting, a passion she has brought to life through musical theatre performances, as well as roles in short films and commercials. Most notably, Cami took on the lead role in an impactful short film "Blink of an Eye," that tackled the sensitive subject of opioid abuse. Her involvement went beyond acting, as she also contributed a dance performance, recorded the title track, and assisted in producing for the project.
Cami faces the challenges of living with a chronic illness known as "Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome," a connective tissue disorder that most prominently impacts her joints and digestive system. Despite these obstacles, she actively raises awareness and supports ongoing research into the condition. Cami's dedication to making a positive impact extends to her involvement in various charity projects, including Variety Club, Make a Wish, O’Shei Children’s Hospital, and the SPCA.
Remarkably, at the age of just 8, Cami initiated her own organization called "Backyard Broadway." Through this project, she utilized music performances as a platform to raise funds for families coping with pediatric cancer and chronic illness. Cami is committed to making a positive impact through both her music and philanthropy.
In 2023, Cami embarked on a new chapter, forming Cami and The Fringe—a 4-piece band that brings her artistic vision to life. Performing with talented live musicians adds a fun and exciting dynamic to her shows.
Following The Voice, Cami has worked with artist, songwriter, and producer, Grabbitz. Together, along with Robby Takac from the Goo Goo Dolls, they recorded the WGRZ “Glad 2 Be Here” jingle. She also recorded two studio covers of songs that she performed on The Voice - “Skinny Love” and “I Put A Spell On You.” Her first two original singles produced by Grabbitz - “old at 20” and “PARASITE” are available on streaming platforms as well.
Cami has been diligently honing in on her craft, focusing on writing and recording her own original music. She is so excited to share what she has been working on lately with the world. She will be releasing a string of singles throughout 2024, and an album to be released in 2025. Cami’s latest single “Rewind” is out now. She is so excited for this song to finally be shared, as she feels that it marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in her musical journey.
