Primal Dead refers to the era of Grateful Dead between 1965-1972. This is when the Dead were first cutting their teeth as a bay area rock band and exploring the psychedelic depths of the music in which they live and breathe.

We recreate the shows of the Grateful Dead as a True Dance band that would blow the roof off venues such as the Fillmore West, Avalon Ballroom, Winterland Arena, and even the Strand Lyceum in England!

Raw is the best way to describe Primal Dead. It encompasses all that music was in the 60’s and 70’s! from psychedelic transitive Dark Stars to rockin’ St. Stephen>William Tell>The Eleven! we got the fix!
